Ten Millon Dollar Cooler

We were a little disappointed that the Easter Bunny did not find us on the ocean, but we made up for a basket of sugary sweetness with mango crepes for breakfast. We pulled out a roast from the freezer and had a lovely Easter Sunday roast beef, potatoes, and carrots. While eating our Sunday meal Sara spotted a large white floating object about 1/4 of a mile away. She grabbed the binoculars and Wade turned the boat to point at the object. He pulled in the jib and we motored over to the object. Wade slowly pulled the boat along side as if it was a man overboard and discovered a large Igloo cooler flipped upside down. We could tell it had been at sea for a long time because of the thick layer of barnacles. We joked and feared about all the things that were in the cooler i.e. cash. Sara suggest sinking the cooler to make it a fish house, but Wade’s opinion is that the cooler is designed to float. We figured it floated this far maybe it will float up on shore somewhere in the south pacific and someone could either use it or dispose of it properly so we left it as it where. In retrospect we are presuming the cooler held at least ten million in cash, so for an easy payment of 1 million dollars or best offer we’ll give up the coordinates.

The wind is here kind of. For several increments through out the day we were able to shut off the motor. We poured in our last 20 gallons of diesel bringing our tank total to 50 gallons. We are really hoping the wind will blow as predicted so we can finally shut the engine off for the rest of our voyage to Hawaii. We made our turn towards 20 degrees north of Hawaii. The 20 degree buffer is in case the wind shifts more northerly. Don’t forget to email us with your estimated time to arrive in Hawaii.

Happy Easter,
Wade and Sara
