One Day Underway

Hi All,

We are now one day on our way towards Bora Bora. The winds and sailing have been great with us making a few degrees better course than expected and today was lovely. Around sunset however, the wind shifted about 50 degrees and we are now on a course of about 190 degrees, when we should be going 142 degrees. When this email/update goes out we will receive updated whether that may let us know how long this wind direction may persist, and therefore whether we should tack.

At noon today our position was 10 degrees 19′ S and 156 degrees 33′ W. The wind was about 16 knots and our average speed was 5.7 knots on a course of 140 degrees. We made 108 miles good towards Bora Bora by noon, which is about 19 hours since leaving Penrhyn.

Not much else report except that Wade’s finger is feeling much better after being poked by big lobster that took a dislike to Wade catching him. That it was so yummy helped with the pain that oddly took 24 hours to develop.

Cheers,

Wade and Sara
