Moving East

We waited 48 hours to have a better understanding of the weather and it looks like the worst of the storm will stay southwest of us by 150 miles. And the forecast looks like we should not have more than 30 knots of wind and it will be 10 days to reach us instead of 7 that we previously posted. We are not overly worried because we continue to monitor the weather each day and we have an escape route north if we need to leave the area. Therefore we are continuing our travels though the Tuamotus and we are sailing to the north end of Fakarava in the morning.

Most of our time in the northwest corner of Apataki was sitting on the boat watching the rain fall. Squall after squall passed us by. We were not too happy with the anchorage because there were so many large coral heads we could hardly find a spot that our anchor and chain could lay in sand and not wrap around around a coral head. We moved back to the south village so we could exit out the south pass for our transit to Fakarava tomorrow early morning.

Boat Position: 15 degrees 34.282 minutes south and 146 degrees 24.390 minutes west.

Cheers,

Wade and Sara
